Energy for Alaska

The completion and commissioning of the 2016 borehole KLU#3c, in accordance with the exploration plan for 2018, has now been concluded. Natural gas production from this borehole has begun; the currently daily production rate of the KLU#3c is around 8 million cubic feet.

The tests conducted during completion in the Sterling production zone confirmed that, as expected, major gas reserves are present. These reserves shall now be extracted as soon as possible, so that further natural gas reserves in the deeper-lying Beluga production zone can also be recovered.

In addition to the work in the production area, the exploration plan for the forthcoming year shall be agreed in close cooperation with the Department of Natural Resources.
