  • First exploration well has a target depth of around 2,100 metres

Luxembourg, 23 June 2016: According to plan, and with increased exploration capacities, the Deutsche Oel & Gas Group has started this year’s drilling season with its new drilling platform Randolph Yost. The first exploration well in 2016 has a target depth of around 2,100 metres. The well constitutes part of the development of extensive gas reserves in the Kitchen Lights Unit that have been proven by way of five successful wells to date. In 2013, three of the total of 21 production formations that have been found were tested by means of a flow test, and the maximum daily production rate was calculated on this basis.

“After starting natural gas production in November last year, we are now doing everything we can to rapidly expand our production capacities. We plan to at least double daily natural gas production in 2016,” said Kay Rieck, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Deutsche Oel & Gas S.A.
