Energy for Alaska
  • Production volume of up to 30 million cubic feet of gas a day
  • Preparations under way for second well in 2016

Luxembourg, 23 September 2016: The first natural gas well drilled in 2016 by the Deutsche Oel & Gas Group in the Cook Inlet Basin in Alaska has been successfully commissioned. Well KLU#3b has been productive for several days now, and is supplying gas to Alaska’s gas network. The well has an estimated daily production volume of up to 30 million cubic feet of gas a day. At maximum output, well KLU#3b will supersede well KLU#3a as the most productive well in the entire Cook Inlet.

“We are more than satisfied with the results from well KLU#3b,” said Kay Rieck, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Deutsche Oel & Gas S.A. The wells constitute part of the develop-ment of extensive gas reserves in the Kitchen Lights Unit, which have been proven with five successful drills to date. Preparations are currently under way for the second natural gas well planned for 2016, which will also be drilled by the Randolph Yost rig.
