Energy for Alaska
  • Preparations for completion of production infrastructure under way
  • Start of natural gas production planned for late 2015

Luxembourg, 2 April 2015: Following a detailed review, Furie Operating Alaska LLC, a company of the Deutsche Oel & Gas Group, has been granted approval for its 2015 exploration plan by the State of Alaska. This means that the preparations for the start of the 2015 drilling season and the completion of the production infrastructure in the Kitchen Lights Unit (KLU) production region can continue as planned.

Over the coming months, the production platform, the connecting pipelines and the processing plant will be installed in the Cook Inlet, Alaska. The approved exploration plan provides in particular for the start of natural gas production towards the end of 2015.

“The approval of our exploration plan by the Department of Natural Resources officially confirms that the Kitchen Lights Unit is a proven, sustainable natural gas and crude oil production region,” said Kay Rieck, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Deutsche Oel & Gas S.A. The sanctioned exploration plan provides, among other things, for well KLU#3 to be reopened and developed to full productivity. Further development wells are also planned at this well. In addition, a 3D seismic survey is to be conducted to provide more information on the location and size of the existing crude oil and natural gas reservoirs, to enable precise and targeted production activities.
